David Solomonraj, General Manager, Eastern PA Office

Meet David Solomonraj, General Manager of Nortec’s Eastern PA office.  David talks about how going green is becoming a requirement of businesses today, why every company should take a look at virtualizing its desktops, and his favorite football team.

Q: Who are your typical customers?
A: All types – we have mid-market to enterprise, all industries and all sizes – so Nortec’s solutions fit all sizes –and needs-  of companies.

Q: What are most of your customers looking to accomplish?
A: By and large, most are looking for a reduction in power and cooling costs, as well as  server management.  We typically consult with them on consolidation ratios, and the ROI on power and cooling savings. Green was once a fad, but it’s now almost a requirement for today’s businesses.

Q:
What are the most common problems your customers have?
A:
Managing too many servers with limited resources and high expenses in upgrading hardware.  This is compounded by a limited knowledge of their network.

Q: How do you solve this problem?
A: We recommend server consolidation – reducing the number of servers – through virtualization.  Other ways to reduce costs are through Nortec 24/7 (link to the paragraph in the newsletter on Nortec 24/7), which reduces hardware and software expenditures and ensures your system is always available.

Q:
If you could give your customers one piece of advice what would it be?
A: Take a look at virtualization- especially virtualizing your desktops – it’s going to save you a lot of money in purchasing new desktops.

Q: What superpower do you wish you had?
A: The ability to see into the future – and I promise to use my powers only for good, never evil.

A: What would customers be surprised to learn about you?
Q: Customers would be surprised to learn that in the land Philadelphia Eagles I’m a NY Giants fan.
