Meet Aaron Margeson , Senior
Systems Engineer in the Richmond Office of
Nortec.
Aaron talks about his recent training and
certification, thinking creatively about new
technologies, and how mind-reading could be
the key to world peace.
Q: Tell us about your recent VMware
training.
A: I recently attended Virtual
infrastructure and Configuration training for
VMware - specifically on its Virtual
Infrastructure 3 product. I learned the ins
and outs of how the product works, best
practices, and how to fully use all of the
product's features. I also received my
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
certification. I'm now in a better position
to help customers understand and improve
their businesses through availability and
continuity.

The VMware Infrastructure Toolkit for
Windows allows you to manage virtual
infrastructure using Microsoft's new
scripting language called PowerShell. The VI
Toolkit allows you to perform functions that
might not be as easy to do using the normal
GUI - for example, finding any snapshots
older than 30 days.
Check it out.

New ShoreTel Partner Transcribes Voice Mail
from Multiple Accounts into Readable Messages
GotVoice brings all of your voice-mail
systems together in a single service and has
just announced a tie-up to offer its services
to customers of ShoreTel Inc.
GotVoice gives you multiple ways to access
your voicemail messages. It starts by
emailing them to you as sound files. Perhaps
more useful, it can convert messages to text,
then send the text to you in emails or SMS
messages. That means you don't need to press
keys, use speakers or listen through a
headset to retrieve your messages. The
real-world benefit is clear: you can
discreetly access your voice mail, via a
laptop or email-capable mobile handset, even
when you're stuck in interminable meetings.
You can also reverse the conversion process.
Type a message or a reply and GotVoice
converts it into a synthesized voice message.
You can then send it to phones or email
addresses, as well as groups of phones. You
can also opt for silent delivery, sending
messages directly into other people's voice
mail without ringing their phones.
