Planning to Fail: Quick and Affordable Disaster Recovery for Large and Small Organizations
After a disaster, it's critical to get your organization's systems up and running - and fast. But if there's no plan in place, getting back in business may be next to impossible, or take so long that you lose customers - and profits. Whether yours is a large enterprise or small business, you need a plan to disaster-proof your organization and retain continuity of operations when disaster strikes.
So what's your plan? Disaster recovery can mean everything from tape back-ups to SANs, from redundant hardware to virtualization and cloud computing. But even if you're backing up your data regularly, it's likely not enough. What happens if you or your staff can't get to your office and your backup discs or tapes because of a snowstorm, earthquake or flood? Making sure you and your staff has what they need to access your system is all part of a good continuity plan.
You don't need to be a large company to need - or afford - a disaster recovery plan. Incorporating cloud computing as part of a business continuity plan can provide redundant systems, continual access to data and applications and a better chance of making it through a disaster with customers and profits in place. And perhaps the best news is that it's quick and affordable.
Nortec can help you put together your disaster recovery plan before disaster strikes. Give us a call and we'll show you how we can help.

Q: What have you been doing while you've been away from Nortec?
A: I was working on a large migration for the federal government. While on the project I was trained and certified in NearPoint and provided email archiving engineering support. I also had a chance to get in-depth experience with the Quest Migration Manager for AD and Exchange tools. The platform our team was migrating to was Active Directory running on Windows 2008 and Exchange 2007. Read the
