"ECG started having Nortec conduct regular NSRs in 2001. Since then we've implemented about 95% of the changes Nortec recommended. As a result, we have seen significant improvements in the reliability and speed of our IT infrastructure. We have also greatly improved our security policies and reduced our vulnerability to Internet hackers. We've even become less dependent on Nortec tech support - our systems are more stable and we simply don't have as many problems anymore. We also, include Nortec's NSR recommendations in our Board Reports to help justify needed IT improvements. Bottom line - the NSR service has been extremely beneficial to ECG."

The NSR begins with an interview session to set goals and expectations. This is followed up by data collection, analysis and write-up, and concludes with a presentation of the deliverable to management and IT personnel.
The NSR Deliverable document is a comprehensive reference customized for your organization that includes a graded review of each aspect of your system; steps for remediation, and a prioritized task-based overview how to make your system run according to best practices. Successive NSR's provide valuable trend analysis.

Your NSR is broken down into three sections, each becoming more technical and granular as you progress. The Executive Summary presents the high-level overview; grading each aspect of your system from excellent to poor. The Remediation section breaks down each area into detailed descriptions, providing remediation and next steps where appropriate. The data section includes indexed data in print and CD format in the latter chapters.
Nortec developed the scope and toolset for the NSR service in-house. For over 13 years our clients have used the service offering to create and track IT strategy, as well as fulfill organizational compliance requirements, budget and prioritize IT spending, plan projects, and meet post-project quality assurance mandates.
