Matt&Mike_doubleQ: What are your customers typically looking to accomplish?
A: When choosing an IT partner most customers are looking for a company with great engineers and product knowledge. Ultimately we find that most people want a valued partner and a consultant. Nortec strives to give them the best practices, options, and guidance.

Q: Are you seeing any current trends with your customers and how they’re implementing IT?
A: I’m seeing two trends right now, Virtualization and Unified Communications.

Q: If you could give your customers one piece of advice what would it be?
A: I would recommend that customers read more about the cloud and take a serious look at virtualization. Investigate what other organizations are doing. These options can save an organizations money and maximize efficiency.

Q: What superpower do you wish you had?
A: Ability to see the future. So I can anticipate my client’s needs, of course.

Michael’s specialty is ShoreTel and LifeSize solutions, networking and security. He is CCNA, CCNA Security, Network+, Security+, A+, ShoreTel certified and a recent LifeSize Technical Expert. He has a business background, so his Project Manager role at Nortec is second nature to him.

Q: Who are your typical customers?
A: Most customers I have contact with are looking for Unified Communications solutions. They are trying get away from land-based telecommunications and move to their own networks to provide their telephony needs. They want to do business smarter, save money and experience seamless migrations with little to no impact on their business.

Q: Are you seeing any current trends with your customers and how they’re implementing IT?
A: Without a question the biggest thing we’re seeing at Nortec is clients looking at virtualization. In today’s economy, it’s a smart move that allows them to save on costly space, power and hardware costs. Administration overhead is also reduced making it an all-around, attractable option.

Q: If you could give your customers one piece of advice what would it be?
A: Engage a qualified expert early in your Project process. Planning is key and you need a partner who can get you started off on the right foot.

Q: What superpower do you wish you had?
A: I have several hobbies, one being flying – I’m a Commercially Rated, Multi-Engine Instrument Pilot. I’d like to be able to fly without the plane and feel the REAL freedom of taking flight! Cape optional, of course.
