Meet Chad Thimons, Sales Executive for Nortec’s Pittsburgh office. At press time, Chad has been with Nortec for 2 weeks. Learn what Chad’s been up to in his first few weeks, and read on to discover Chad’s hidden athletic talent.
Q: You’ve been with Nortec just 2 weeks. Why did you join Nortec?
A: In speaking with Nortec senior management, it became clear that my personal and professional goals are aligned with Nortec’s. They have a great reputation and their culture really matched the atmosphere I prefer.
Q: Tell us a little bit about your job.
A: Right now, I’m getting out and introducing myself to existing clients as well as prospects. Nortec would like to grow in Pittsburgh and one of the reasons I came to Nortec is due to my knowledge and expertise in building markets. I’ve had clients stay with me for my entire sales career because trust and relationships are important to me – and it’s important to Pittsburgh.
Q: You’ve had a long career in sales. Is there one piece of advice what would it be?
A: No matter what the industry, get to know and listen to the person who’s sitting across from you. And get to know the company you’re working with. It doesn’t matter how small or how large the company – they need to be the right fit for you. Ninety percent of the professional relationships I have are now personal friendships because they have gotten to know me and my company.
Q: What would your co-workers or clients be surprised to learn about you?
A: I am an expert advanced snow skier. I used to compete in downhill and slalom events regionally and around the country.
Q: What superpower would you want to have?
A: To teleport myself anywhere, but that would be problematic molecularly because you could end up with your face where your elbow was and vice versa.
