Changing the way you work | Ditch your phone carrier| And more
How Microsoft’s Modern Workplace is Changing How We Work
“Managed modern workplace” probably sounds abstract at first, but we promise it’s easier to grasp than the latest avant-garde installation at the National Gallery of Art. The managed modern workplace builds on Microsoft’s modern workplace, adding security features and professional services to optimize your business’ potential. Here’s what else you need to know and how the managed modern workplace drives businesses forward .
Ditch Switches, Cut Carrier Circuits and Transfer Your Phone to Teams
The Teams platform has benefits traditional solutions lack, and switching over is easier than implementing a standard phone system. You’ll swap switches and carrier circuits for a truly mobile, modern communications solution. It’s easy to scale up or down, and you’ll only pay for what you need.
It’s included in the Microsoft Office Suite, so you can test out the system by making an internal call to a team member right now. Discover how to start using Teams.
The Azure Security Features You Should be Using
The best technology unobtrusively integrates into your workday, like Azure’s AI-powered threat protection. It’s why Nortec Senior Consultant Gregory Smith singled it out as his favorite Azure feature.
“The most exciting thing about these to me is that they are features that can be enabled almost silently, with little impact on endusers, and yet they bring truly substantial gains in security posture,” Smith said. “These are tried and proven effective approaches that scale well and don’t get disabled because they’re intrusive. They just work.”
Here are the other Azure features our team wants you to leverage.
Meet the Team: Daniel Cornell
- What do you love about your role in business development?
I enjoy interacting with customers and prospects in an effort to provide additional support and security. Each discussion is different, as each need is different.
- It looks like you were at Nortec and then came back after a few years elsewhere. What drove that decision?
There is always a bit of trepidation when going to a new company. I always enjoyed working at Nortec, so when I began to consider any other companies, I was very interested in seeing how things were going here. After discussions with previous colleagues, I was reminded it would be a good fit, and it’s turned out that way.
- What were you up to before life at Nortec?
I worked on network support in helpdesks across the DC region in government offices, hospitals and commercial settings.
- Where are you most likely to be on weekends?
I’ve recently been doing some home remodeling. It’s actually been a lot of fun, most days. I already added in some outside items for the spring.
- We hear you’re about to be a dad this month. What are you looking forward to about fatherhood?
So, so much, but I’d be willing to start with help with #4 above. Might be awhile….
Case Study: Using the Cloud to Propel Growth
From a business pointofview, Advicare was primed for growth. The Florida-based company was looking to double in size for the second time, but they couldn’t scale their IT. They relied on the cloud, but improper configurations, a complex login system and no device management program made growth impossible.
When we came onboard, the login and credential issue was the first we tackled. We knew resolving it would improve the workday for end users and smooth the path for the rest of the project. But it wasn’t easy.See how we applied out-of-the-box thinking and put Advicare back on track for growth.
