Good Cybersecurity: Behind the Numbers
“Good cybersecurity” isn’t a vague concept for our managed IT clients. We’ve quantified it as part of our proactive monthly security review.
Every month, we send a cyber report. It’s written in plain English, incorporates graphs, transparently lays out metrics and shows how we’re defending their systems. One overall number can be used to assess your security profile. It’s a percentage and you can track it month to month.
Plus, the “see something, say something” principle guides our helpdesk team, decreasing the likelihood of unusual activity going unnoticed and unreported.

Teams, of course, does more than make phone calls. Here’s everything you should be doing on the hyper-collaboration hub.
Become a Teams Power-UserDeflect the Impact of the Microsoft Price Increase

We want to help you keep a bigger share of the pie in-house. As Microsoft implemented a price hike on licenses, we’ve worked hard to make sure not everyone takes a pie to the face. Our managed services customers are least impacted.
- License-only customers: 20% increase unless you sign up for a 1-year commitment
- Managed services customers: Little to no price increase. Nothing significant.
Microsoft is a business essential. You shouldn’t get stuck with a price hike.
If you act quickly, we can help you avoid higher license fees. More pie for you. Less for Microsoft.

- What do you love the most about working at Nortec?
I love the extraordinary and capable team that I work with daily. Over the past years, I’ve benefited from exceptional teamwork. I also appreciate the flexibility of remote work and the opportunity to balance work and life.
- You’ve been at Nortec for a while, what changes have you been a part of or been excited to see at Nortec?
Yes, I have been at Nortec for a while, and I’ve been able to witness the company’s evolution from traditional IT consulting to a cloud managed services provider. I was fortunate to work with many of our clients to migrate from traditional on-premises IT infrastructure to the cloud. I’ve shown customers the value of embracing the cloud even more now that many have transitioned to remote work or hybrid work.
- How did you get into IT?
My career in IT started while I was doing my undergraduate study in computer science; I was fortunate to get a part-time job in the computer lab and then, later on, worked in the IT department of the university, where I learned networking and computer repair.
- You talk to many customers – can you share a fun fact that your customers wouldn’t know about you?
Some of our clients may already know that I was born in Guyana, South America. However, they may not know that my great grandfather composed the national anthem of Guyana.
- What’s your favorite type of pie?
It’s a toss-up between apple and pumpkin pie. I enjoy both warm with some vanilla ice cream.
