George Hammerschmidt is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Nortec Communications. Bringing over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, George is a seasoned expert in Microsoft solutions, telecommunications and the IT industry at large.
George’s career reflects a track record of successfully developing and launching information technology software, hardware, and professional service solutions. His focus has primarily been on Operational Support Systems (OSS) for telecommunications companies worldwide, along with IT infrastructure solutions for businesses of all sizes in the Mid-Atlantic region. This breadth of expertise serves him well as he has led Nortec over the past two decades.
George holds a Master of Business Administration from York University and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Windsor. These academic credentials, coupled with his hands-on industry experience, ensure his thorough understanding of the business landscape and technological trends.
Prior to taking the helm at Nortec, George served as Vice President North and South American Sales at both Orchestream Systems PLC and CrossKeys Systems Corporation and was the Director of Performance Management at the Canadian Pacific Railway.
As Executive Vice President and COO at Nortec Communications, George is responsible for corporate strategy, sales, marketing, finance initiatives, and regional operations. His leadership role extends beyond the company, as he also serves on the Partner Advisory Councils with key suppliers.
